The National and Some Nursery Before & Afters - Weeks 21 & 22

A couple of weekends ago, Jamie's dad completed a half IronMan in Raleigh, which consists of swimming, then biking, then running.  Ford decided he wanted to do his own IronMan that weekend in support of his Dziadziu:

Last weekend we went to Raleigh for a Ra Ra Riot and Postal Service concert Friday night, and then traveled to Richmond, VA Saturday night to see The National, my favorite band, with our friends Ryan and Travis.  It was a standing concert (Jamie almost got kicked out trying to get us seats; the security guy/usher finally said to him, "I'm tired of hearing about your pregnant wife"), but luckily I didn't have any dizziness issues.

On that Sunday, we celebrated Aunt Sam's 25th birthday with the Fillibens in Raleigh before heading home.  Ford loves birthdays since birthdays mean cake.  Happy birthday Aunt Sam!

We're getting close to being finished with the nursery, which we've been pretty good about doing on somewhat of a budget.  On that note, here are a couple of pieces of furniture we've refinished over the past month or so.

We got this antique Bentwood rocker for $30 on Craigslist:

My parents had a wicker dresser they were getting rid of from their beach house that we'll use as a changing table.  I was a little hesitant about the idea of wicker because I'm not a huge fan of it, but it was free and the right size.  I think it turned out un-wickery after I painted it:

Recap of Weeks 21 - 22:
  • Lil Fil 2.0 is the size of: a spaghetti squash; 11-ish inches and about a pound.
  • I have gained: between 8 and 9 pounds.
  • I feel:  good.  But it's hard not drinking in the summer, and there's no way to feel good in a bathing suit.  I know a lot of people that have just had babies or are due very soon, and it's hard not to be jealous, even if I don't feel quite ready yet.
  • Comment of the week:  "Mommy's baby, baby sister."  Ford, pointing at my stomach and touching my belly button.  "My baby, baby button."   Ford, lifting up his shirt and touching his belly button.
