We can't believe our little Marms is already halfway to a year! Since she was a couple weeks old she's loved to stare and interact with faces and stuffed animals, and she's always been a little attention hog with separation anxiety, but recently has become more mobile and in turn a bit more independent. Just in the past week or so she has been loving the fact she can roll around, sit up, and have accurate hand-eye coordination with whatever she wants in her mouth. You can see the concentration on her face, and then the pride.
We've been trying rice cereal for a couple of months but she's not a fan (I hear ya, girl). Now that we've moved on to real food, she loves peas and sweet potatoes.
She doesn't have any teeth yet, but you can see four to five of them are well on their way. We've been worried about her vampire teeth coming in (Google "vampire baby"), but they haven't actually broken the skin yet so there's still hope the middle four will cross that gum finish line first.
Her favorite person in the world is her brother; she laughs whenever he is in her realm of vision. When she starts to cry, Ford will say "Margot is sad! She needs me!" and sure enough, his "Margot-Margot-Margot! Do-on't be sa-ad!" works better than anything Jamie or I have come up with to cheer her up. Sibling bonds are incredible.
Happy half birthday, Miss Girl! We love you!
